The Mayor opens the new studio
We were delighted to have The Worshipful the Mayor Of Oldham, Councillor Fida Hussain open the new studio at Radio Cavell on Wednesday, May 13th.
He was accompanied by his wife , Tanvir. The Opening Cermony was attended by members of Radio Cavell, the Pennine Acute Trust and the local media.
Chair of Radio Cavell, Kent Wells (seen in photograph), said “We are delighted that the Mayor is able to open the studio for us. The new studio represents a major step forward for Radio Cavell and is the result of considerable fund-raising. We need to keep pace with changing technology to better provide for the patients in the hospital.
We hope to have our second updated studio on air by August. At that point we will have a “state of the art” broadcasting facility and be able to make even better programmes for the entertainment of patients”.

We have lucky enough to receive grant funding to the tune of £750 from
First Choice Homes Oldham
and the Rotary Club of Saddleworth.
We are extremely grateful for their generosity which will ensure the completion of our second studio. We were put through our paces by both sponsors! The Rotary Club held a Dragons' Den event at the White Hart, Lydgate
whilst First choice Homes Oldham held a rigorous application process through which 17/30 submissions were successful. Onwards and upwards!
